Settlers of Catan board game

Settlers of Catan: Most popular new board game- Settlers of Catan

Review of Settlers of Catan from an 11 year old player.

What I like about the Settlers of Catan is that it's all about resources, building and trading. My favorite thing about the
Settlers of Catan is the "Longest Road Card", because it's easy to
build roads as they don't cost many resources to build the roads. All you need it 1 lumber and 1 brick. What I also like about the road card is that you gain more territory as you build longer roads no one else can build a settlement on my roads.

What I like to do in the beginning of the game is to figure out where my first 2 settlements are going to be. First I want each settlement to be on 3 resources, then the second settlement to be on 3 different resources, so I have 1 of each resource. But to find the right spot for each resource that I place a settlement on needs to be on a frequently rolled number token.
The third game of Settlers Catan Game that I played I had quite a lot of settlements on 1 resource, grain. I had 3 cities on grain. My brother then rolled a 7 and placed the robber on my hex tile of grain with 3 cities on it!!!!!! That was bad news for me, because now I had a lack of grain, not only me because now everyone had to suffer from my brothers mistake, sadly even him. Because I was the main resource of grain everyone had a big loss. that's why you should never place a lot of settlements on 1 resource because Ir you're lucky enough the same thing may happen to you.

Also a good strategy to get resources you need is ..............Well first if you get a lot of 1 kind of resource
that you don't always need you can trade it for what you do need. For example, if you get a lot of grain, then place a settlement on a grain harbor so you can trade 2 grain for whatever you need, whenever it's your turn. So you should get a couple harbors of what resources you mostly get so you can have what you need, when you need it. When it's your turn you may ask anyone thats playing to trade resources, for example, if I have a brick I don't need I can ask someone that I will trade them a brick for an ore, if thats what I need. If there's a shortage of ore but there are very few in hands then you can trade 3 for 1 or 2 for 1 or any combination. But that person can deny any offer you make them until they are satisfied.

The thing that I hate about the robber is that if someone rolls a 7, then whoever has more then 7 resource cards in their hand has to discard half of their cards. For example, if you had 9 cards you would have to round it down to the nearest half number which would be 4 so you would have 5 cards left.

So there the Settlers Catan Game is the best board game, way better than Monopoly and even better than Monopoly junior which I used to like.
